Latest Updates from Our Project:

Shipping Update & Sequel Naming Results
almost 2 years ago – Thu, Jun 30, 2022 at 12:36:45 AM

Hello, everyone! Bad Comet here😊.

Happy May! We truly hope everyone is enjoying the fresh new month😁.

Right on to business, our fulfillment status.

Fulfillment Status

  • AU/NZ: It seems some of our NZ shipments have been impacted by low airline capacity from AU to NZ and are causing some hold-ups. It is a crazy time logistically all around the world with delays rampant everywhere, unfortunately. We have been asked to reach back out after the 10th of May so we ask that all NZ backers who have yet to receive their copies, reach out to us after the 10th of May and we’ll be sure to contact our fulfillment partners to see if we cannot get a clearer delivery status for your order.
  • ASIA: Some parts of Asia(Vietnam/Hong Kong) are still ON HOLD due to Covid. We will be sure to let you know through the comments when the situation improves and fulfillment becomes possible.
  • EU: On May 5th, we heard from Shipquest that EU shipments are on hold at customs. All paperwork requested by German customs was submitted by May 6th. We have yet to hear back from Shipquest if, after all the paperwork, the EU shipments passed customs or not. Due to being held at customs, the expected arrival date has been pushed from May 5th to May 13th. Note that the May 13th date is also uncertain as the date is merely our prediction. Shipquest has mentioned that the exact shipment status will be shared with us by this week, so if we receive any updates, we’ll be sure to let you know through the comments!
  • UK: The copies arrived in the UK warehouse on the 22nd of April, and individual shipments are expected to begin next week! If Shipquest shares a more accurate schedule with us, we’ll be sure to let you know in the comment section!
  • US/CA/ROTW: Unfortunately, we are told that QML shipments to North America will be delayed from the 1st week of May to the 2nd Week of May. Due to the pace of the warehouse, they were unable to start fulfillment last week as anticipated. However, to quote QML, they have told us this week(May 9th - May 13th) they will be “very possible to start”, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed that we can start shipping out by this week. When a more accurate schedule comes out, we’ll be sure to let you know in the comment section!

Voting Results for Naming Wild’s Sequel

As I’m sure many of you have been anticipating! We will now be announcing the long-awaiting Wild Sequel Naming Results!

A total of 705 Backers participated in our poll, and out of the choices, the most popular title was Wild: Deep Green! Second place was Wild: Breath of the earth, with the least popular choice being Wild: Lungs of the earth.

However, through this, we were able to confirm a slightly different result than we expected. Many people wanted Amazonia to be in the sequel title over all the alternatives proposed.

We also thought that having Amazonia in the title was ideal and with overwhelming support for the name, we are actively considering ways to include Amazonia in the title of our sequel with our legal partners. It seems that it will take a bit more time before we can come to a conclusion about our sequel’s title, but we will do our best to secure a title that will satisfy both our team and our backers while also satisfying any trademark directives.

In addition, we have selected a lucky backer who will receive a prototype of our sequel! As we’ve mentioned before, out of the 705 backers who have generously participated, we have randomly selected 1 winner who will have a first-hand look at our sequel prototype.

The luck backer is, ‘Everett deVries’ Congratulations!

We will contact you via Kickstarter Message and Email once the prototype is finished.

A fun fact to end this week's update is about our Jackals!

Did you know that Jackals are one of the oldest known dog species?

That's all for today's update! We'll be back soon!

Unboxing video and Shipping Update #2
about 2 years ago – Sat, Apr 09, 2022 at 02:33:45 AM

Hello, Bad Comet here!

Spring really has come, the weather is getting warmer, and we’re seeing all the cherry blossoms bloom here! With the nice weather, I brought along what would hopefully be a nice addition to everyone’s day :) Our current shipping statuses!

  • Delivery for Australia and New Zealand has just started! We’re expecting all our AU/NZ backers to receive their products within a week.
  • For Asian Regions, shipments to China/Hong Kong/ Korea have been completed, as for the rest of the regions, shipping is in progress or has not yet started in accordance with the local Hub times.
  • For our UK and EU backers, the vessel carrying the products should soon arrive in the UK and EU respectively. The exact arrival schedule has yet to be shared with us but know that when we’re updated, we’ll be sure to update everyone😊
  • For the US, Canadian, and ROTW regions, the products have finished customs clearance and have arrived at the QML warehouse! QML expects we’ll be able to start deliveries to the US/ROTW towards the end of April, but there are some variables to consider, so we have kept the estimated delivery start date for May 2nd.

✅ If you have received your products and are experiencing issues with the product and/or components, such as product damage or missing components, please contact us at [email protected] (yes, there is no m at the end of our email😆)

✅ For all product damage emails, please attach a photo along with a description of your issue and the email used for your pledge for us to be able to assist in the matter at lightning speed (hopefully 😅).

✅ Replacements for damaged and/or defective products are possible within 30 days of receiving the product. Please note that after 30 days, a fee may be incurred.

And in addition, the video that everyone was waiting for, the Wild Kickstarter Edition Unboxing Video is live! We hope this video is helpful for our backers who are wondering how to store all the components in the box.

Let us know if you have any questions, and always feel free to contact us.

And to finish off our update, a fun fact!

Did you know that the Lions are the only cats to live in groups?

That’s it for today. Hope everyone has an amazing weekend!

Shipping Update #1: Booking Completed!
about 2 years ago – Thu, Mar 10, 2022 at 04:16:33 AM

Hello, Bad Comet here!

Finally, the day has come! All bookings for the ships bound to each continent have been completed. Wild: Serengeti is within reach!

We thank each and every one of you for your patience. Now on to our timelines!

The table above shows an estimation and may be delayed depending on local logistics situations. In the case of delays, we will share each step of the situation with the utmost transparency and detail.

The fulfillment centers we'll be utilizing are:

  •  Aetherworks for Australia
  •  VFI in China for Asia
  •  Gamesquest in Great Britain for UK, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland
  •  Intermail GmbH in Germany for Europe
  •  Quartermaster will be handling US/CA and any other outlying countries

1. AU/NZ

We currently show an ETA of March 14th to AU and would expect about another week before it arrives at Aetherworks(AW). From there, shipping should begin within 2-3 weeks of arrival at the AW warehouse, so we anticipate shipping to begin the week of March 28th at the soonest, but it could be the week of April 4th.

For those of you interested in where the ship is, the name of the Vessel is APL SCOTLAND😊.

2. ASIA

VFI in China is handling fulfillment in Asia. VFI ships the product to their partner hubs in each country, and then their partner hubs ships the game to the individuals so the ETA will vary a bit depending on the destination country.

From VFI to each HUB freight times

  • Indonesia: 45 days
  • Japan: 14 days
  • Malaysia: 21 days
  • Philippines: 30 days
  • Singapore: 21 days
  • Taiwan: 7 days
  • Thailand: 30 days

※ VFI doesn’t ship the products until they have a full shipping container. Extra time should be considered in these timing calculations.

Once the copies arrive at the individual countries, then the typical shipping times will take place.

Deliveries are already underway in China and Hong Kong, and individual fulfillment for Backers in Korea is scheduled to begin early April.

Backers in Asia will receive two shipment notifications.

  1. VFI Support will send out the pre-shipment notification to backers once it has been shipped out from VFI China's Warehouse.
  2. You'll also receive a local tracking number once the partner Hubs in the destination country send out the final shipment from their centers.

※ Backers in South Korea will receive shipment notification only once. Bad Comet will ship the products via Logen Logistics.

Thanks, everyone for your patience!

3. UK/EU

EU shipments are expected to arrive in Germany on the 11th of April and the UK shipment is due to arrive in the UK on the 8th of April.

It should take about 2 weeks to be moved to the warehouse after customs clearance, and once it arrives at the fulfillment center, we’re looking at the week of May 18th for the start of individual fulfillment.

UK/EU booking was particularly late this time around. Due to the pandemic still roaming, the logistics situation and container shortages issues were intensifying in China. With the extreme congestion in each of the ports, it has caused this booking delay for Europe and the UK.

We’re still awaiting the name of the Vessel from Shipquest. Once we know, we’ll be sure to leave a comment in the comment section. 😉

4. US/Canada/RotW

We currently show an ETA to the port in the US as the 10th of March and will need to allow up to 2 weeks to arrive at QML. Though, QML is in the midst of peak season right now and dealing with some delays with fulfillment. Therefore, we anticipate we will likely begin fulfilling from QML around the week of May 2nd.

For our Canadian backers, shipping to Canada takes about a month longer than individual fulfillment in the US. This is because individual fulfillment begins once the cargo in the US is shipped to Canada. Therefore, we expect individual fulfillment in Canada to begin the week of June 2nd.

As for the Rest of the World, shipments should hopefully be sent out by the week of May 2nd.

🦒🦒🦒

In regards to the shipping cost increase during the last update, there were so many thoughtful and considerate comments, messages, and emails we received from our amazing backers about wanting to help us cover the funds. You don’t understand the overwhelming warmth and love we felt.

Some of our backers were very persistent, so we found TWO ways you could help us with the crazy shipping costs, of course, if you would like.

  1. Tell your friends and family about Wild and let them know of the link to purchase their very own Retail copy😉!
  2. Be our #1 Backer to support us when we launch our next project🥳.

The support and cheer from our backers really is the backbone for our team and the source of our energy! We really thank you for that.

Now, we can’t forget about a fun fact today, can we?

Today is about our Gazelles, did you know that Gazelles run in special ways to alert other gazelles of danger?

That’s all for today’s info-heavy update. We’ll see you all in a bit!

Mass-production has Concluded!
over 2 years ago – Sat, Jan 29, 2022 at 03:31:43 AM

Hello, everyone!

Bad Comet here with some exciting updates for Wild: Serengeti!

1. Mass-production Finished

As the title suggests, Mass-production which was scheduled to conclude at the end of March has actually concluded this month, January the 26th!🥳

Unexpected problems could always arise during the production process, and due to the Chinese New Year Holiday, production was initially expected to be completed March 31st, but with the diligent cooperation from our manufacturers, the production was fortunately finished before the Chinese New Year 🎉🎉🎉.

So, we expect to be able to start shipping 2 months earlier than we’ve planned!! Woohoo! Faster is always better, am I right? ;)

We just received the mass-production copy and the quality looks great! Product photos for the Mass-production copy can be found below.

2. Schedule

Production was quickly completed, but Ocean Freight is expected to start after the Chinese New Year(CNY). When the ship booking is completed after CNY, we’ll be back to share the estimated delivery date! Nothing is certain, but we’re hoping that shipping could start sooner than July 2022 we promised during the campaign.

The great news is that the shipment to the US was booked before CNY and was loaded onto the ships today. Last year, the delay in the freight line from China to the US was so severe that the shipment to the US for this project worried us the most.

Because we started the process of Ocean Freight relatively early, we think we’ll be able to keep to the date that we promised during the campaign even after taking delays into account.

We have yet to receive any detailed schedules in regards to arrivals, but know we’ll be back to share with everyone once we receive an update from the logistics company!

If you’re like me, and love tracking vessels(you know who you are😉), the Vessel carrying our copies to the US is ZIM CHARLESTON. Oh! Please take into account that the location and time of the vessel tracked on the site could vary with the vessel's real-time location.

One heart-wrenching, piggybank breaking news for us was that, due to the global logistics crisis, the freight cost was beyond belief, an eye-opener let me tell you😳.

There were expectations, but compared to last year, the freight cost increased by double! Of course, these costs were covered entirely by us, so there’s no need to worry. All we ask for is the warmest of your support! 😭

3. Wild Retail Edition Pre-orders are Open!

The Retail Edition of Wild: Serengeti is now available for purchase via Backerkit. If you missed out on the Kickstarter edition, the retail versions will now be available for pre-orders on Backerkit!

Click here to pre-order Wild: Serengeti Retail-edition

  • The Retail edition does not include Stretch Goals but will be available for purchase separately.
  • The components of the Retail add-ons have slightly changed from the Kickstarter editions. So please make sure to check the components carefully through the details page on Backerkit.
  • For Backers who have Kickstarter Editions already coming your way but would like to purchase additional Retail Editions, if you pre-order before May, you may be able to receive the new order along with your Kickstarter Editions!
  • Unfortunately, we will be unable to ship to AU/NZ regions.

4. Photos of the Mass-production Copy

The quality of the Mass-production copy is FANTASTIC, to say the least! The Pre-production and Mass-production copies are identical, so I’ll focus on the components that we didn’t share in the last update.

Main Box

All the Stretch Goals are also included inside this box.

If you have not purchased any additional add-ons, this is what the components will look like inside the box when organized.

The quality of the card sleeves is so nice. There were barely any that had scratches, and they were comfortable to work with because they aren’t too slippery!

If you purchased the Card Sleeves and the Upgraded Wooden Token add-ons, this is what the components will look like in the box when stored.

All cards are storable in the box even when sleeved with the 100 micron Card sleeves.

The Extra Set of Meeples is not for in-game use so we recommend that they are stored separately.

Lock Address and Production Status Update
over 2 years ago – Mon, Dec 20, 2021 at 02:50:43 AM

Hello, everyone!

It’s quite chilly out, and we’ve actually just had one of the nicest snow days this past weekend. First and foremost, happy holidays to all who celebrate and an oncoming happy new year! The last couple of years have been tough for the world and I hope amidst all this, everyone is doing okay. We’ve got our office Christmas tree decorated and feeling all the holiday vibes.

But on to today’s updates :)

1. Address Lock on December 23rd

The addresses on Backerkit will be locked on the 23rd of December. After this date backers will be unable to change their addresses directly on Backerkit. So please take this time to double-check if you’ve inputted the correct address in Backerkit. If you’re unsure of how to check if you’ve inputted the correct address follow the steps outlined below.

  • Locate the survey email Backerkit had sent out to complete your surveys and follow the link through to your personal survey.
  • There should be an “Edit Your Address” box at the upper right-hand corner of the screen, click that button and it should take you to a new page.
  • On this new page, you should be able to see the address you’ve inputted into the Backerkit system. If you would like to edit your address click that “Edit Shipping Info” button under your current shipping info, edit your address, and confirm.

If you are having trouble don’t hesitate to contact us! We’re here to help. And do not worry, if you end up needing to change your address after the 23rd, just send us a quick message through Kickstarter and we’ll help you out!

2. Schedule

We’ve confirmed our pre-production copies, and placed our mass-production orders. We’ve also confirmed the E-proof files the manufacturers have sent over and production has begun!

As mentioned on our Kickstarter details page, mass production, including the time the manufactures will be off for the Chinese Lunar New Year Holiday, is expected to be completed by March 2022.

Thankfully, our manufacturing partners are taking great care of Wild’s production.

Our manufacturing partners are located in Shanghai and manufacturers that are producing the Meeples are located in another state, Zhejiang. Gratefully, our production representative has taken the initiative to journey out and stay in Zhejiang while the Meeples are in production to be able to communicate with us in detail. You don’t know how reassuring this was for us that the manufactures were so active in cooperating with us at every level. Right now we’re in the process of cutting the meeples into their shapes. We’ll share the quick video our manufacturers sent us below!

We will be doing the meeple coloring this week, and we’ll do our best to match the colors of the animals in coordination with the manufacturers.

3. Pre-production Copy

Now, let me share with you some photos of the Pre-production copies we received. The color, UV print, and etc. all came out without a problem!

However, after the pre-production copy, there have been a few modifications like Specialists content, Icon images, and etc. so please note that these photos may not match up 100% to the final copies.

Now, below are some images of the Packaging for the Upgraded Wooden Token and Meeple Set Add-on!

Originally, the Token and Meeple set were going to be packaged in OPP bags. We wanted to reduce the cost in order to give the Add-ons the lowest price possible. However, in the process, we got a bit carried away. Tada~ we now have these 2 amazing packaging boxes for the Add-ons. We couldn’t resist, and decided to cover the cost so everyone can enjoy the add-ons nicely packaged in these boxes!

4. Changes

1) Upgraded Wooden Token Quantity: One per type was added

  • Coin 35 > 36
  • VFX  25 > 26
  • Food 25 > 26

2) Plant Icons

  • After Backer Feedbacks and some thorough consideration from the art team, the color of the flower icon has changed from red to dark orange. Also, the leaf icon has been changed from 1 leaf to 2 as there were times the leaf was confused for the Fruit Icon.

3) Final Rulebook

Thank you, to all our Backers for the amazing feedback. With your help, our rulebook could be more complete!

We’ve seemed to have an upgraded rulebook in our hands in all aspects, including grammar and readability. The final rulebook link is attached below, so check it out!

4. 1st Place in “The Korea Creative Content Agency’s Final Evaluation for Developing Game Companies”

Small but exciting news! Wild has won 1st place at the Final Evaluation for developing game companies held by the Korea Creative Content Agency!

The final evaluation consisted of, 50% expert evaluation + 50% general public evaluation, and Wild won first place in expert evaluations and 1st place in general public evaluation! Can you believe it?!

Due to Covid-19, we didn’t have the chance to face players face to face aside from play-tests while preparing for Wild, but this time we were able to introduce and share the game to many and see them play our game for the first time!

It was touching and heartfelt enough that we were able to see players having fun and playing our game in itself, but cannot be more grateful to say we’ve received 1st place! A true moment to remember.

The prize was quite hefty so I think we’ll be able to use that amount for future game planning!

Once Covid-19 eases down a bit, we not only want to participate in more conventions in Korea but also Gen Con, SPIEL, and more to be able to see, chat and engage with our Backer in person. Sounds fun, no?

Now a Fun Fact to end today’s update!

Did you know, a giraffe's heart weighs roughly 11 kg and is the biggest of all land mammals?

That’s all for today. Thanks again to everyone who helped Wild in any which way and overall, making Wild: Serengeti a reality!
