Hippo meeple & Specialist Card UNLOCKED

The Hippo Meeple and "Hippo Specialist card(TBD)" have been added to the Promo pack!

Our own little Serengeti plain has been brightly uplifted with the addition of our beautiful Hippo meeple. The "Hippo Specialist" is still under playtesting. Once the ability and images are completed and finalized I'll be back to share them with everyone.

The next Stretch Goal is 2 Scene Cards. Extra Scene Cards are always nice😎 But there's been a few comments here and there that the Scene Card Stretch Goal is not very exciting, so we've revised Goal's amount to $65,000 instead of $70,000.

I also know that our comment section is plentiful of ideas about the game. Thank you so much for letting us know and filling us in on the ideas you love and have thought about! There were a variety of ideas, including but not limited to options like additional animal meeples, night safari modes, and component upgrades, and etc. rest assured we are considering all of these.

However, it may be hard to reflect each and every idea into the game, I hope you understand. And we do need just a bit of time to share the specific progress with you on the ideas we would like to incorporate. This is largely due to the fact that with each new idea we need to conduct a level of playtesting to see if the ideas will interfere with the completeness of the existing gameplay. I will do my best to share our thoughts and the progress through these updates.

So, as a result of some playtesting over the weekend, it seems likely that a few new animeeples could be added to the game through future stretch goals! So hang tight! And be prepared for the upcoming new arrivals!

(I'm sorry we couldn't answer your comments and messages over the weekend. Over the weekend, I was completely knocked out. Maybe it was the pre-launch sleep I missed out on. But! We know and understand communication is key and will be mindful to keep communication a priority moving forward.)

Many people participated and voted for the cloth pouch design. I'm collecting the results, and I'll share them with you in the next update when the results come in!

In celebration of unlocking the Hippo Stretch Goal, I've come with a fact about the Hippo to end our update.

Did you know, the hippos biological name, hippopotamus amphibious means "river horse"? Cool right?

Cloth Pouch UNLOCKED. Vote for designs!

Our 3rd Stretch Goal has been unlocked!  *insert whistle sounds here *

A Cloth pouch to store your meeples has been added to the promo pack.

As I've mentioned before, the design for the front of the cloth pouch will be decided by our one and only group of BACKERS! Yay!

We've come up with a few designs. Take a look.

On to the next topic of discussion. First, can I get a drum roll, please?

There has been many a comment, truly detailed conversations, and lots of unexpected passion/frustration/all the above from many fans. So today I would like to introduce 🥁🥁🥁 The Hippo meeple!

I'm sure many of you have already guessed, we did have a secret sneak peek in our updated campaign. I had no idea of the level of love for Hippos. My apologizes. There was an overwhelming number of comments on all of our platforms asking us for a hippo!

Wild: Serengeti is a game using animal meeples. Increasing the number of animals would mean an increase of meeples needed to be used in-game, which would raise the difficulty of the game. So we thought long and hard about how we could add the Hippo into the game without breaking the game's balance. As a result, we came up with the idea that we can provide a specialist card that utilizes the Hippo. The Hippo meeple and Specialist card will work together as partners in crime😉. This Stretch Goal is set at $60,000 and once unlocked will be added to the Promo pack.

To all our Hippo devotees, let's work together to get this Hippo Meeple unlocked!

Fun fact for today's update is about the Rhinos!

Rhinos are usually solitary and are said to rarely hang out with each other, but did you know that they do in fact like to spend a lot of their time with feathered friends like the Oxpeckers?

Let's talk about Stretch Goals & "Writer" Specialist Card REVEAL

Our 2nd Stretch goal has been UNLOCKED!!!

The Writer will be joining us on our adventure to the Wild Serengeti.

Just lovely, no?

As for the upcoming Goal, the next unlockable Stretch Goal will be a nice Cloth Pouch! Looks like it'll come in pretty handy if you ask me! You'll be able to store Wild's animeeples in here if you'd like. This is one of the Stretch Goals I would really love for my set😉

Once the Cloth pouch is unlocked I'll be by with a few sketches! I want to make sure our backers have a say, so you'll be able to vote for your favorite design! Sounds fun right?

On to the magnets... We've decided to not follow through with magnet meeples as one of our Stretch Goals. Before our launch on Kickstarter, we asked our Facebook group about what they would like to see and we received positive feedback on magnet meeples. Our plans were to present these meeple magnets as part of the promo pack. There was accountability on our part for misinforming everyone out of context during the voting stages and after seeing all the feedback and input so far from our backers we decided that it would be better to cast some of our ideas aside and move forward with Stretch Goals that can be incorporated into the product itself. Thanks, everyone for your feedback! 

As many of our backers have requested, the team is working hard to incorporate your ideas into our Stretch Goals, so stay tuned to see what we've come up with!

The first of our Stretch Goals was UNLOCKED!

2 Scene Cards will be ADDED!

The next Stretch Goal is a Specialist Card.

In preparation for this Goal, we have the "Writer" Specialist Card in the works.

We're putting the finishing touches so I'll be back in no time to reveal the details on this mysterious "Writer" Specialist Card! Something to look forward to is always nice, right? 😉

I've been seeing that our backers are having quite a discussion amongst one another(which is AMAZING) and great feedback and input left for us about additional meeples and component upgrades.

Rest assured! We are reading each and every comment and making notes while organizing them on a nice excel sheet to make sure to go over them all with the team.

We may not be able to reflect on everything, but we will be working hard to really find that balance between what we can do and what you'd like to see.

In particular, it seems that magnet meeples are not a popular choice. So I will make sure to take in all considerations to decide on future Stretch Goals.

Updates aside, starting from this update I thought it would be fun to end every update with a fun fact about one of our Wild: Serengeti animals! I'll start with the Zebra!

Did you know that Zebras huddle together to confuse colorblind predators like lions, who mistake them for grass?

We have been officially funded in 7.5 Hours!!

Thanks to every one of you who has believed in us and our product to back us so early into the game, we were able to fully fund Wild in 7.5 Hours! 

I'm sure the word "Thanks" will appear a lot through this update but funding in 7.5 hours was unimaginable and thinking about it still is unbelievable! Putting your trust and support in an idea is a huge deal but we cannot thank everyone enough for believing in us and our idea.

As many of our backers might know, we were planning to launch at 8 AM EST, on the dot, but we had a technical error that pushed launch until 8:07 AM.

Trust me when I say that the team was in FULL PANIC MODE, those 7 minutes felt like an ETERNITY. All the pre-launch butterflies turned to stone in those 7 minutes. We're just grateful we were able to open up the campaign and we apologize and thank every one of you who patiently waited for us to get the page going!

To get to the good part. The first of our Stretch Goals are extra Scene Cards! The more Scene Cards that are added to the deck the higher the replayability. So let's try an unlock as many as possible. Help us share the campaign far and wide to hopefully unlock as many goals before the end of the campaign!

There is absolutely NO PRESSURE, but some of the things listed down below will really help us get the campaign going and in turn, help us unlock more stretch goals. If time allows, help Wild seek a wider audience!

• Let your bestest of board game friends on game night know about our campaign.

With time differences aside, with launch jitters and butterflies in my stomach since forever, I can say I've now been up for about 24 hours prepping for this campaign today. Seeing it fully funded, I think I can comfortably take a quick nap🙂
